National Cyber Director visits award winning Cyber and IT Security Team

On Friday 7 November 2025, NHS Informatics Merseyside’s Cyber and IT Security Team welcomed Phil Huggins, Director for Cyber Policy and National Chief Information Security Officer for Health and Care. The visit followed the team’s success earlier this year at the 2025 National Cyber Associates Network (CAN) Awards, where they were named Cyber Team of the Year. Phil’s visit provided an opportunity to celebrate these achievements and learn more about the team’s ongoing work to strengthen cyber resilience and IT security.

Children in Care St Helens accredited as Excelling

Congratulations to Children in Care St Helens who have been accredited by the Trust as an Excelling team. The team were rated Good Plus in all 5 key questions in their last two consecutive QRVs on 16 July 2024 and 3 July 2025 and have subsequently been recognised as Excelling by Divisional and Trust leads.

World AMR Awareness Week 2025

World AMR Awareness Week is 18 to 24 November 2025. Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites no longer respond to antimicrobial agents. As a result of drug resistance, antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents become ineffective and infections become difficult or impossible to treat, increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness and death.
