We’re pleased to announce that Ashworth Hospital has been relicensed as a provider for high security psychiatric services, one of only three high secure hospitals in England and Wales. This is a five-yearly process that all three high secure hospitals must undertake to ensure the services they provide are of the highest quality and authorised by the Department of Health and Social Care.
Steve Newton, Director of the Secure Care Division, said “It’s testament to the hard work and dedication of staff in High Secure Services that Ashworth has been relicensed for another five years. The team at Ashworth have been working hard since January this year to ensure their submission met the strict criteria required to achieve approval as a provider. I’d like to offer my thanks and gratitude to all staff who go above and beyond every day to ensure our patients receive the highest standards of care.”
