Leadership Review
Summary
Mersey Care has a clear strategic vision set out until 2028 including leading the way on whole person and lifelong care that helps people live healthier lives. We are in year two of our strategy and we believe our strategy fits with the early requirements to deliver against the 10-year plan and in particular push towards community-based care, preventative health and digital transformation.
In order to achieve these three shifts there is real ambition and appetite to focus on efficiency and productivity [using the resources we have to the maximum] and ensuring accountabilities are clear across organisations and systems. The development of integrated neighbourhood models is front and centre in this plan as the NHS look to take the primary and secondary prevention agenda and embed them into new ways of working. As a result of this the leadership model has been reviewed.
Reason for change
Our current operating model does not allow for ease of standardisation across service lines and is too bureaucratic, which doesn’t allow for autonomy of leaders. We also need to reduce duplication and embrace new technologies such as Co-pilot.
Strategic leadership will focus on ensuring services deliver high quality, safe and efficient services, while operating in PLACE. Operational Leadership will ensure local communities needs are met and high quality, safe and efficient services are delivered.
The consultation process
During the consultation period, staff will be able to request an individual consultation meeting to discuss any concerns you have or put suggestions forward for consideration.
Please note this is not compulsory, there are other ways of providing feedback (detailed below).
Staff have the right to have representation during the individual consultation meeting and staff can invite a staff side representative should you wish. It is your responsibility to make these arrangements.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email communitycare
All details of the consultation will be shared in this dedicated space and we will constantly review and update the FAQ section.
