Declaration of Business Continuity:

Liverpool Community Equipment Service (CEDAS) is experiencing significant staffing pressures as a result of long term sickness and staff isolation. Therefore it is deemed that the service business continuity plan should be invoked following discussion at the Community Division Tactical meeting on 4th August 2021.

It has been approved that during the period of escalation the service will focus on delivering equipment to support patient who are at end of life, provide equipment that is required urgently to prevent hospital admission and supply equipment that is required to support hospital discharges (EoL, 24 hour and Priority 1 delivery speeds). All other equipment referrals will be delivered as capacity allows.

To enable the service to prioritise deliveries it will limit collections and recycling of equipment and will focus on returns of high demand items were warehouse stock may be compromised.

The above actions will help to direct resources to key high risk areas however impact may be felt by patients and staff who require access to lower level items of equipment.

The business continuity position will be reviewed on a weekly basis and de-escalated as service capacity improves.
