Become a mental health social worker!

We’re delighted to announce that we’re partnering with the mental health charity Think Ahead and will be hosting a group of trainee mental health social workers with them starting next summer.

Think Ahead’s paid, two year programme combines on the job learning and a master’s degree to train mental health social workers across the country. You can earn as you learn, with dedicated support from experienced social workers, academic tutors and start a secure career that really makes a difference.

As a mental health social worker, you will support people in your community living with significant mental health needs, using a social approach to help them with important aspects in their lives such as relationships, housing and employment.

This year Think Ahead will be fast tracking applicants who are sponsored by their partners, like us, to a guaranteed assessment day.

After this, you will need to contact Sumitra Tase from Think Ahead (partnerrecruitment@thinkahead.org) with an expression of interest and include your contact details (email address and phone number) and confirm who you spoke with to get sponsorship. She will book a call with you to check your eligibility and go through the application process. 

The assessment dates for employee applicants are: Wednesday 28 February 2024 or Saturday 2 March 2024.
