After 47 years in the NHS, Pauline Copland, medical HR manager has retired. Pauline has been described as “one of the kindest people, who is always there to help and support others”.

She started her career in the NHS in September 1976. She was an administrator in Walton Hospital (South Sefton Health Authority) on what is now Clock View site working with the health visitors registering the births within South Sefton. She progressed to working with the nursing officers resulting in working in North Mersey Community NHS Trust based in Maghull Locality as the personal assist to the locality manager.  Pauline became a service manager managing a number of clinics and staff across Sefton. Pauline always had a human resources focus in her role and an opportunity arose for herto undertake her HR professional qualification.

Pauline joined Mersey Care in 2004 as an HR advisor following completion of her HR professional qualifications. She moved into the role of human resources manager / human resources business partner after a number of years.

During her 20 years service with Mersey Care Pauline has provided exceptional HR support to colleagues and managers across all divisions in the Trust and has seen the workforce and the Trust grow immensely since 2004. Pauline is a well respected, highly knowledgeable, professional and always goes the extra mile to offer support to anyone. Pauline will be returning to the Trust for a short period before taking a well earned rest after 47 years service in the NHS.
