Elizabeth Johnson, Support Time Recovery Worker and Victoria Clayton, Peer Support Worker from Knowsley Recovery Team in Mental Health Care Division were driving across the M57 bridge when they noticed a young man who’d climbed over the bridge railings and was standing, staring onto the motorway. They turned the car around, contacted their team manager, who also attended to support, whilst an off duty police officer was stopping traffic on the M57. They supported the young man, along with ambulance and police colleagues, who eventually climbed back over the railings and was taken to Whiston Hospital A&E.

On return to base, a debrief was held, both practitioners have said they’re ok but our Health and Wellbeing Team has been contacted to provide additional support. The Division is really proud of them, their quick actions and the support they gave to the young man in crisis.
