Due to reduced resource and business continuity in the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service we have implemented some interim revisions to the entry criteria for Occupational Health (OH) MSK Physiotherapy in order to meet current demand with available capacity.
The revised entry criteria for OH Physio is based on the following:
- Assessment linked to job role e.g. PSS
- Presenting injury / condition has been caused by work.
If you experience an Musculoskeletal (MSK) issue which falls outside the above entry criteria please be aware that Physiotherapy is available free of charge on the NHS throughout the UK. Depending on where you live, you may be able to self-refer or you may need to visit your GP first. Some physiotherapists also work in GP practices as the first point of contact for patients with musculoskeletal problems, such as neck or back pain, and those with long-term health conditions.
When contacting your GP surgery, you may be offered to see physiotherapy directly, instead of having to see the GP first. Physiotherapists working on these roles may have advanced skills, such as prescribing and ordering scans.
