Val Newey, Health Visitor, has recently retired after working at Norris Green Clinic since 2014. Before this Val had a long and varied career and loved to travel the world.
She began work as a Saturday girl at the age of 14 and went to secretarial college. Following this, Val worked in Germany and hitchhiked to Israel where she worked as a plumbers mate. She has also organised European coach tours, trained as a Reflexologist and Aromatherapist and even worked on a cruise.
Val completed an access course at the University of Liverpool and a degree in Forensic Anthropology and joined Norris Green as a Health Visitor in 2014.
All her colleagues wish her well! Val is going travelling again but has will return as a health visitor on the bank.
