Specialist Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health Service has been nominated and shortlisted for two Positive Practice in Mental Health awards.

The nominations are centred around the established equalities infrastructure and regional work programme for Cheshire and Merseyside. Central to this is the perinatal equalities advisory group which is a shared forum for operations/managers, clinicians and peer support workers. The main purpose of this group is to review and support the development and implementation of the perinatal inequalities workstreams and to establish a shared vision and accountability for reducing perinatal inequalities in the communities we serve across nine ICS Places, with an enhanced focus on ethnic minority women, young mums and women with complex needs or adversity.

Several outputs are noted including: publication of our ethnic monitoring QI project https://explore.bps.org.uk/content/bpscpf/1/373 ; the opening up conversations booklet and accompanying training (and also nominated for a Parliamentary award), community listening events and place based reporting model.
