2025 NHS Pay Award Implementation

We would like to inform you of several important updates regarding the 2025 NHS Pay Award and associated pension changes. Staff can expect to see the NHS Pay Award reflected in their August 2025 payslip, with arrears backdated to 1 April 2025.

Pension contribution tier adjustments.

In line with NHS Pension Regulations, pension contribution tiers will be updated. Key points include:

  • From 1 April 2025, pensionable pay ranges will increase for some pay ranges
  • This update is automatically applied in ESR
  • No change to the lowest tier or entry to the second tier.

Payroll Processing

  • Monthly Paid Staff: Arrears will be included in the August payroll, scheduled to be paid on your usual monthly pay date.
  • Weekly Paid Staff: Arrears will be paid during the week commencing 4 August 2025, on your regular weekly pay day.
    For example, if your weekly pay day is Friday, arrears will be included in the payment on Friday, 8 August 2025.
