World Continence Week will take place from 15–21 June 2026. This international campaign aims to raise awareness of bladder and bowel health, reduce stigma and encourage open conversations. It highlights that continence problems are common, often treatable, and nothing to feel embarrassed about.

Millions of people experience bladder or bowel symptoms, yet many delay seeking help due to discomfort or stigma. Continence Awareness Week encourages individuals, families, carers and health professionals to work together to recognise symptoms, access support and start conversations that can lead to earlier intervention and improved outcomes.

Throughout the week, organisations across the UK will be sharing information on bladder and bowel health, pelvic floor wellbeing, prevention, treatment options and available support services. The campaign aims to help people recognise symptoms early, access support sooner and improve their quality of life.

Our specialist bladder and bowel services support adults, children and carers living with continence issues, offering assessment, treatment and education. Support is available across Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley, including advice on bladder and bowel health, pelvic floor exercises, lifestyle changes and symptom management.

There are many ways to get involved during Continence Awareness Week, including:

  • Starting conversations to challenge stigma
  • Accessing and sharing educational resources
  • Encouraging friends, family or patients to seek help if they have concerns
