Our 0-19 Children's Services across Liverpool and Sefton have launched a new Health Visitor Portal to support families from pregnancy through the early years.

The portal gives trusted NHS guidance on feeding, safe sleep, emotional wellbeing, child development, immunisations, SEND support and more. It also includes local links to Family Hubs, breastfeeding support, Early Help and Health Visiting teams.

Parents told us they wanted easy access to reliable information in one place, and the new portal provides clear NHS guidance, local support and practical tools to help families feel confident and supported from bump to baby and beyond.

Q. Who is the portal for?
Parents, carers and families in Liverpool and Sefton from pregnancy to age five.

Q. Is this replacing Health Visitors?
Not at all. It supports the service - not replaces it - and helps families access information between visits.

By making it easier for families to find trusted information online and providing a simpler way to get in touch with local teams, the improvements support the NHS Long Term Plan’s aim of offering more digital first options and care closer to home. Ultimately, they are designed to help children, young people and families get the right support quickly and in a way that fits into everyday life.

Q. Does it include local support?
Yes, including breastfeeding teams, SEND services, Early Help, Family Hubs and urgent help guidance.

Q. Is the advice NHS‑approved?
Yes. All content is sourced from NHS, UKHSA, Lullaby Trust, iHV, local councils and Mersey Care.

Q. Why was this created?
To reduce mixed messaging, improve early years support, and make information easier to find.

Q. How is it being promoted?
Through QR codes, maternity services, Health Visitors, Family Hubs, GP practices and social media.
