Standardising the rate card for the medical workforce*

As a collective leadership team, health and care system leaders across Cheshire and Merseyside agreed to standardise the rate card for the medical workforce across the system with implementation from 1 October 2025.

Switching to a standardised rate card will help to ensure that the local NHS workforce is fairly and consistently remunerated and address the current inequity of differential pay rates across Cheshire and Merseyside.

The move to a standardised rate card - which will be implemented via a phased approach - will also ensure that NHS resources are used as effectively and efficiently as possible.
