Working safely in warmer weather
As temperatures rise, there are simple steps we can all take to stay comfortable and safe at work.
You can help by:
- Use fans, read this SOP about the use of bladeless fans across all areas in the Trust
- Provide adequate ventilation
- Ensure windows that can be opened are open to keep air circulating
- Shade colleagues from direct sunlight with blinds or by using reflective film on windows
- Position workstations away from direct sunlight or sources of heat
- Introduce flexible working patterns, such as job rotation, moving workers to cooler parts of the building where possible
- Allow enough breaks to allow workers to get cold drinks or cool down
- Discuss local heat plans with your service lead.
