Message from Sean Leahy, Chief People and Culture Officer
I’m proud to serve as our Wellbeing Guardian, this role is about making sure the health and wellbeing of our people stays firmly in view at Board level and across the organisation. It means championing a culture where wellbeing is not seen as an optional extra, but as a vital part of how we work, lead and care for one another.
At Mersey Care, we know that when our staff feel supported, valued and well, that benefits not only individuals and teams, but also the care we provide for the people who rely on us every day. Wellbeing matters because you matter.
World Wellbeing Week takes place from 22 to 26 June and reminds us to pause, reflect and focus on what helps us stay well at work and beyond. It’s also an opportunity to shine a light on the support already available, to start conversations, to try something new, and to remind ourselves and each other that looking after our wellbeing is something we should all feel able to do.
I’d really encourage everyone to take part in the activities and messages being shared throughout the week. Whether it is joining a session, taking a few moments to reflect, speaking with a colleague, or exploring the support on offer, every small action can make a difference.
I also want to encourage our leaders and managers to use this week to open up conversations in teams and to continue building environments where people feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
Thank you for everything you do. I hope you will take this opportunity to engage with World Wellbeing Week and make wellbeing a priority for yourself, your colleagues and your team.
