Ho Ho Ho! Assemble your teams for the Liverpool Santa Dash!

The temperatures may be on the rise again this week, but we can’t help feeling rather festive – that’s because the BTR Liverpool Santa Dash has officially opened!

Join thousands of Santas on 6 December 2026 with your team for a festive, fun-filled day in the heart of Liverpool – perfect for getting in the spirit of the season.

The 5K dash through the city is not to be missed, last year with more that 11,000 red and blue Santas taking to the streets making it the biggest dash to date. There is also a 1K mini dash for kids, if you’d like to get them involved too.

Our Trust’s charity, Mersey Cares is one of the event’s official fundraising partners – and so it would be great to have a sea of Mersey Care Santas flying the flag – and helping us raise some funds to do some amazing things for service users, patients and staff.

Why register now?

Places for this event get snapped up fast, so registering early is always recommended. Registering early will allow you to secure the colour of suit you’d prefer which will get mailed to you closer to the event.

Why your fundraising matters

When you fundraise for Mersey Cares you are raising funds to support a range of projects that fall outside of NHS funding but can make an incredible difference to the lives of people accessing our services. Every penny really does count – just take a look at some of what we’ve made possible.

Fundraise for your service

Fundraising with your team can also help you raise funds for a specific project you’d like to make happen within your services to support your service users and patients.

Halton CYPMHS ran the Santa Dash last year (photo above) and raised an incredible £1,173 specifically for an art project to support the young people they care for which is currently underway!

Nicola Hamlin, art psychotherapist, said, “It was a great day – the team all seemed to really enjoy themselves and it is amazing to see how much money we have raised! We wanted to a fund an art project for our service and these funds will make that possible.”

If you’d like to get a team together, we’ll support you all the way. Let’s see if we can get as many Mersey Care Santas as possible signed up to make a huge difference and help us reach our £25,000 fundraising target for 2026 in honour of Mersey Care’s 25^TH anniversary.
