We are delighted to welcome our West Lancashire colleagues to Mersey Care and the Community Care Division.
From 1 July, we will officially be working in partnership with Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (MWL) to deliver community health services across West Lancashire, marking an important milestone for local care.
Together, the two trusts will provide specialist services including:
- Community dietetics
- Community neurological rehabilitation
- Community rehabilitation
- Falls prevention
- Podiatry
- Speech and Language Therapy for Adults
Through this partnership, we are broadening our reach and strengthening the way care is provided across the area, supporting people to stay well and receive care closer to home.
Our community services play a vital role in delivering the ambitions set out in the NHS 10 Year Plan, particularly in shifting care closer to home and strengthening support within local communities.
We look forward to meeting colleagues over the coming months and working together to enable community services in West Lancashire to thrive.
