Question : How Can I opt out of the NHS Pension Scheme?

Answer: You can find all information in relation to opting out of the Retirement and pension YourSpace page.  If you chose to opt out you will need to complete Form SD502 and send it to the Pensions Team: merseycare.pensions@merseywestlancs.nhs.uk you will also be able to email the team any questions.

Question: How can I request a refund of pension contributions?

Answer: Complete Form RF12 and send it to the Pensions Team.

Question: Am I entitled to Statutory Sick Pay?

Answer: If you are not able to work due to sickness you may be eligible for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP). You must inform temporary staffing that you are cancelling your shifts for reasons due to sickness and that you wish to submit a claim for SSP. Temporary staffing will not be able to advise on eligibility however, queries can be directed to banksickness@merseycare.nhs.uk

Question : Am I entitled to annual leave?

Answer: Yes any bank shifts completed attract a 12.5% payment on top of weekly earnings. This is shown as WTD payment on your payslip.
