Making time for yourself can feel impossible when life is hectic, but Self Care Week reminds us that looking after our wellbeing isn’t an extra, it’s an essential. 

For busy NHS staff, self-care doesn’t have to be complicated. Small steps can make a big difference: 

  • Pause for a proper break, even a few minutes to connect with a colleague and enjoy a brew can help. 

  • Stay hydrated – keep a water bottle close and sip when you can. 

  • Stretch for 30 seconds between appointments or meetings, or step outside for a quick breath of fresh air. 

During Self Care Week, our Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service will be running activities and sharing resources to help you build practical self-care habits into your day. These resources are available all year round, so you can keep prioritising your wellbeing beyond this week.
