On 5 May, NHS England’s Deputy Chief Nursing Officer Hillary Garrett CBE and Sam Sherrington, Deputy Director of Community Nursing visited our Community Care Division. The visit was part of her leaving tour, as Hilary retires in June 2023 after more than 37 years in the NHS.
Our guests were taken on a tour of Longmoor House, met some patients and heard about how our service supports the system with rehabilitation. They also met our internationally recruited nurses, and talked about their journey to Mersey Care and different cultures. Hilary and Sam also spent time with Trish Bennett, Jenny Hurst and a large group of community nurses, Health Visitors and AHPs talking about all things community services!
