The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service has continued its partnership with Knowsley Safari, to bring you new dates for Spring/Summer 2025. Funded by our charity, Mersey Cares, it is a unique opportunity to recharge, refresh, and reconnect with yourself and your colleagues. Take a step back from day to day work and immerse in nature and the great outdoors, during these half day wellbeing sessions for teams across the Trust.
Watch the short video below to learn more about the initiative and see the tabs for available dates, including booking process.
There is plenty of evidence that shows spending time outdoors amongst wildlife can significantly enhance your mental health and wellbeing. From reducing stress and anxiety to boosting mood and creativity, Knowsley Safari Park, with its access to acres of beautiful natural landscapes and diverse wildlife, is the perfect setting for our wellbeing initiative.
The half day sessions offer teams the chance to step away from their daily routine, immerse themselves in nature, and engage in activities designed to promote relaxation and wellbeing. Whether it's a guided nature walk, mindfulness exercises amidst the tranquil surroundings, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of the park, each session promises to provide a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Participants will have the chance to see a variety of wildlife on the day, which may include lions, zebras, rhinos, capybaras. Teams can also take a ride on the Baboon Bus taking them up close and personal.
Sessions run from 9.30am to 1.30pm and each session is open to a maximum of 12 people.
Booking process
Wellbeing Through Wildlife sessions are available to teams across the Trust. Applications for bookings need to be made by team leaders/managers only.
We understand the pressure on services, so we ask that requests for places are only made where you can assure colleagues can be released from their duties. All sessions start at 9.30am and finish at 1.30pm. This will help minimise cancelations and ensure dates are fully utilised.
In addition, the process below must be followed:
- Select a suitable date from the selection within the table below, clicking the respective ‘register interest here’ link.
- Send the auto-generated email including the number of places you wish to book. A maximum of 12 delegates can attend.
- Attach copies of the completed consent forms for each delegate to the email.
Please note, if you do not follow the process above, your application will be delayed.
Your expression of interest is not confirmation of a booking. A team member will contact you from wellbeinghub
You will then be contacted again to confirm if your requested date has been secured.
As our funding for these events is limited, we sadly may not be able to offer all teams who apply a place. In the event of high demand, priority will be given to teams which haven’t accessed the initiative before.
