Domestic abuse

We at Mersey Care acknowledge that some changes to the way we work can cause anxiety who may be experiencing or feel at risk of domestic  abuse.

There is never an excuse for domestic abuse, no matter what the circumstances are. And we will always support our colleagues that can’t work from home and need to escape domestic abuse. If you are working from home and need to come to work, we can support you to do so.

What can I do?

The Domestic Abuse Toolkit forms part of a suite of toolkits developed by Business in the Community, in association with Public Health England (PHE).

  1. Acknowledge - Use this toolkit to help understand the issues, and to understand every employer’s responsibility is to address domestic abuse. We want to enable colleagues to openly discuss this topic, and provide a supportive approach; to Listen, believe and not to judge.
  2. Respond - Speak with your managers, your HR advisors or your health and wellbeing team who can support your colleague to respond to the disclosure and help them/you get the help needed.
  3. Refer - We can help signpost and support access  to organisations that can help those affected by the issue.
