New text: As of January 2025, YourInsights now provides a digital front door to Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and access to a new Our People dashboard.

Training guides for both can be found on the BI Hub below:

The training guides will describe how to:

  • Access YourInsights
  • Search for, open, and bookmark reports in YourInsights
  • Navigate the Our People dashboard and create customised views
  • Share and export data from the Our People dashboard

Alternative formats will be made available in future, including videos and online learning modules.

If you have any recommendations for training guidance, you can use our feedback form or contact the Business Intelligence (BI) Service using the contact form on BI Hub.

A series of drop-in sessions have been scheduled by the Performance & Information team. These will include a brief on-screen demonstration of the dashboard and are a good opportunity for you to ask any questions in an informal setting.

There’s no need to sign up in advance. Simply choose one of the sessions below and then copy & paste the joining information into your calendar. Please note that all meetings have the same Teams link and password.

Alternatively, if you’d like somebody to join an existing meeting and provide a similar demonstration, please get in touch with hannah.wilson@merseycare.nhs.uk who will arrange this with you.

The YourInsights training guides should explain everything you need to be able to open and interact with business intelligence (BI) reports, and to find the information that you need in a timely manner.

To turn that information into meaningful insights, it’s important that data is interpreted and analysed effectively. This may be something that you do yourself, by working with others, or with support from Mersey Care’s Performance & Information team as part of the BI service.

The links below may be useful to support with interpretation of data:

NHS England Making Data Count – two illustrated pdf guides which explain how to interpret data over time using SPC charts, and how to use this in decision making.

Introduction to Excel – online starter guides from Microsoft.

Quality, Service Improvement and Redesign (QSIR) Tools – online pdf toolkits for topics such as measurement for improvement, demand and capacity, run charts, scatter diagrams, histograms, modelling and simulation, and Pareto analysis.

Additional resources will be added to this section throughout 2025.
