Using YourInsights

YourInsights is the digital front door to access all Business Intelligence (BI) reporting. A training guide on the BI Hub describes how to:

  • Access YourInsights
  • Search for reports (including previous BiT reports)
  • Open reports in the web browser
  • Bookmark your frequently used reports

If you would prefer to learn by watching demo videos, please take a look at the short virtual training module which is now available on the Learning Management System. Search for “Your Insights” in the course catalogue to find and enrol.

Using the Our People dashboard

The Our People dashboard uses a new report format, designed to provide greater functionality and flexibility to colleagues. Throughout 2025, this same format will gradually replace all previous BI reports, so you are encouraged to familiarise yourself as soon as you can.

A training guide on the BI Hub describes how to:

  • Find and open the Our People dashboard
  • Customise using filters and drop-down menus
  • Save customised reports as personal bookmarks
  • Share and export information
  • Review your access permission

Virtual drop-in sessions and demonstrations

From January to March 2025, the Performance and Information team hosted a series of 12 virtual drop-in sessions. These included a brief on-screen demonstration of the dashboard and an opportunity for colleagues to ask questions in an informal setting. The team also provided demos at a wide range of meetings across the Trust.

A new series of virtual drop-in sessions will be scheduled later in the year, to align with the launch of the Our Services dashboard.

In the meantime, if you’ve got an existing meeting which you think would benefit from an on-screen demonstration, please contact either your Performance Business Partner or with hannah.wilson@merseycare.nhs.uk who will arrange this with you.

A series of drop-in sessions have been scheduled by the Performance and Information Team. These will include a brief on-screen demonstration of the dashboard and are a good opportunity for you to ask any questions in an informal setting.

There’s no need to sign up in advance. Simply choose one of the sessions below and then copy & paste the joining information into your calendar. Please note that all meetings have the same Teams link and password.

Alternatively, if you’d like somebody to join an existing meeting and provide a similar demonstration, please get in touch with hannah.wilson@merseycare.nhs.uk who will arrange this with you.

The YourInsights training guides should explain everything you need to be able to open and interact with business intelligence (BI) reports, and to find the information that you need in a timely manner.

To turn that information into meaningful insights, it’s important that data is interpreted and analysed effectively. This may be something that you do yourself, by working with others, or with support from Mersey Care’s Performance & Information team as part of the BI service.

The links below may be useful to support with interpretation of data:

NHS England Making Data Count – two illustrated pdf guides which explain how to interpret data over time using SPC charts, and how to use this in decision making.

Introduction to Excel – online starter guides from Microsoft.

Quality, Service Improvement and Redesign (QSIR) Tools – online pdf toolkits for topics such as measurement for improvement, demand and capacity, run charts, scatter diagrams, histograms, modelling and simulation, and Pareto analysis.

Additional resources will be added to this section throughout 2025.
