Congratulations to Ian Matthias who is a Support Time Recovery Worker in our Autism Spectrum Condition Services.
Ian was nominated for a Sefton Parent Carer Forum Award and has been recognised for being a positive example of inclusion and understanding.
The Sefton Parent Carer Forum said “The experience for many families with a child or young person with SEND can often be negative, with many challenges to access the right support at the right time. We decided to host our inaugural SEND Awards as part of our parent carer conference in March 2024 to celebrate some of the positive experiences our members have had. We had over 250 nominations for 184 nominees, ranging from social workers, hospital volunteers, health workers, teachers, schools and more. We would like to recognise Ian and thank him for being a positive example of inclusion and understanding”.
Sefton Parent Carer Forum work with Sefton Local Authority, Education settings, Cheshire and Merseyside ICB and NHS, social care and other service providers to ensure that the services they plan and deliver meet the needs of children and young people, aged 0-25 years with SEND. They do this through consultation and co-production. They are a local charity, made up of volunteers who are passionate about making the lives of children and young people with SEND better. They are a member of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums and are the recognised PCF in Sefton. If you would like more information, you can find them on Facebook or Sefton Parent Carer Forum.
