It was 3-2 to the ladies this week at Aspen Wood. Service users and staff had a great time on Wednesday at our new low secure service, as the women of Hodder Ward beat the men of Mitton Ward. The event, on the MUGA sports pitch, was organised by engagement co-ordinator Tracy Collard. Tracy arranged drinks, prizes and a massive inflatable trophy and wants to thank everyone who joined in. She was also VAR! The tournament combined exercise, co-ordination, therapy and yes, comedy. As one service user said: “That was really really fun!”

There was plenty of input on the pitch from support staff, therapists and nurses who made a difference to the final score, but since the two goalies were both staff, it’s hard to say which way that difference went! Service lead Julia Musker was the star player and a shout out to leads Nicola McNulty and Steph Phillips who, we’re told, are waiting the call from Sarina Weigman right now.
