Our Bladder and Bowel Service Stoma Team had a fantastic turnout for their Stoma Open Day which was held at the Bliss Hotel on 28 June.
It was an informal Stoma Support Wellbeing event, allowing ostomates to drop-in and access professional healthcare and lifestyle advice, such as exercise, diet, travel tips and up to date product information. This was in addition to social support, access to support networks and signposting to community stoma clinics.
The event was for Southport and Formby stoma patients and was hosted by Lead Colorectal Stoma Nurse Samantha Miller and Stoma Nurse Vanessa Stevenson.
Attendees included the Colostomy, Ileostomy and Urostomy Society, Macmillan Holistic Therapists from Aintree Hospital, along with stoma support wear and appliance companies.
