Mersey Care along with all NHS trusts across the region is implementing a Vacancy and Pay Spend Panel. This is to make sure workforce controls to manage clinical, operational and financial risks are in place. This is one of a series of measures the Trust is taking to ensure we do not incur additional or unforeseen costs in managing our overall pay budget.
The purpose of the panel is review, approve, decline and monitor all vacancies, and in the future, other pay related changes which may result in additional costs before they are approved to go through any process.
All recruiting managers will be required to complete a short online form available here https://forms.office.com/e/38Qykk46Fy. This information will allow the panel to review and agree if posts can be advertised and added to Trac.
The new process is available in the attached slides and illustrates the steps in place for vacancies.
Recruiting managers are required to fully complete the vacancy form with a particular emphasis on the budgetary/financial information. Failure to do so will result in delays in submissions to the panel.
NB: To minimise any delays to the recruitment process, the weekly deadline for submissions is Thursday at 12 noon and the Vacancy Control Panel meetings will be held every Friday at 1pm.
All Trusts are required to provide a monthly update on their position, you cooperation and support is appreciated.
