Our Mental Health Care Division and NHS Informatics Merseyside are delighted to have been shortlisted in the category: Improving mental health through digital, for implementation of the What3words system which allows our staff to locate people who call the crisis line, in crisis.
The system’s been designed to identify any location in the world, within about three metres, and encodes geographic coordinates into three permanently fixed dictionary words. One of the first trusts to implement it, all staff in urgent care services have had training and it’s already been used to locate service users who were in crisis.
