LJMU - Clinical Exercise Physiology Clinic for Mersey Care staff living with Long Term Health Conditions (LTHC)
The Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) Clinical Exercise Physiology Clinic has temporarily offered free exercise support for people living with long term health conditions to Mersey Care employees. They can help you manage your condition and improve your physical function through safe, personalised exercise.

How can they support living with LTHC?
The Clinical Exercise Physiologist will work with you to create a personalised 12-week health journey based on your goals, abilities, and health needs. You will receive expert guidance and ongoing support throughout.
They support people at every stage of their health journey, including those who want to:
· Make lifestyle changes by becoming more active and improving overall health
· Follow medical advice to increase activity recommended by a healthcare professional
· Prepare for treatment such as surgery through prehabilitation
· Recover after illness or treatment by rebuilding strength and confidence
How to Access:
Complete a self-referral https://merseycare.opasg2.com/selfreferral: click the link and enter the one-time code which will be sent by email. OPAS-G2 will ask for an employer code which is O86438 (letter O).
Select: Self Referral - Wellbeing Conversation, then selecting main reason for the request from the drop-down menu ‘LJMU Clinical Exercise Physiology referral’.
A remote appointment will be made with our Wellbeing Team at OHWB initially who will take brief information to forward to LJMU.
All services are delivered by registered Clinical Exercise Physiologists (PDF, 3.74MB). These are qualified healthcare professionals who specialise in using exercise to support health, recovery, and long-term condition management. They are trained to assess your needs and design safe, evidence-based exercise programmes that are right for you.
