Learning to support neurodiversity

Training helps build understanding, confidence and inclusive ways of working. This page brings together learning opportunities for staff, managers and those supporting patients and service users.

The Trust has developed a series of neurodiversity training modules, coproduced with colleagues who have lived experience to make sure it reflects real needs and practical workplace solutions.

  • Introduction to ADHD in the workplace
  • Introduction to Autism in the workplace
  • Introduction to Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) in the Workplace
  • Introduction to Dyscalculia in the Workplace
  • Introduction to Dyslexia in the Workplace

These sessions are available to book via Section 4 of the Learning Prospectus.

In addition, colleagues are encouraged to sign up to our Reasonable adjustments and neurodiversity in the workplace training, also listed in Section 4 of the Learning Prospectus.*

*This training module is compulsory for all new managers, and is covered in the Arrive programme from 1 April 2026.

 

Reasonable adjustments and neurodiversity in the workplace training is mandatory (compulsory) for all leaders on the Arrive programme and open to others as professional development.*

The following modules can also be booked onto individually as part of your professional development:

  • Introduction to Autism in the Workplace
  • Introduction to Dyslexia in the Workplace
  • Introduction Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) previously known as Dyspraxia in the Workplace
  • Introduction to Dyscalculia in the Workplace

*All new managers will complete this training as part of the Arrive programme from 1 April 2026; managers who started in their role before 1 April 2026 are encouraged to enhance their understanding by signing up to Reasonable adjustments and neurodiversity in the workplace training via Section 4 of the Leanring Prospectus.

The Autism and Mental Health Support team (AMHST) deliver autism awareness and reasonable adjustments training. 

Two training options are available:

  • Autism and Reasonable Adjustments (Admin and Non-Clinical)
  • Autism and Reasonable Adjustments  (Clinical)
