We are pleased to confirm that two new pathology result feeds are now live and publishing directly into both Rio and PACIS.

What’s Live?

Pathology results from the following laboratories are now successfully integrated:

·                     Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS FT laboratories

·                     Mersey and West Lancashire (MWL) – Whiston Hospital laboratories

These new feeds supplement our existing electronic pathology result integrations and will ensure faster access to results, improved clinical visibility, and reduced reliance on manual processes.

Rio and PACIS now receive pathology results from all of the following laboratories:

·                     Liverpool University Hospitals (LUHFT) laboratories

·                     Mersey and West Lancashire (MWL) – Southport Hospital laboratories

·                     Mersey and West Lancashire (MWL) – Whiston Hospital laboratories (new)

·                     Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS FT laboratories (new)

This means that all key laboratory partners across Halton, Merseyside and Warrington, now publish digital pathology results directly into our Rio and PACIS systems.

What Users Need to Do

No action is required from clinicians or administrative teams. Results will appear in Rio and PACIS in the same way as other existing feeds.

To ensure results can be published back to our systems, requesters must ensure they complete request forms with the correct minimum dataset including a valid requesting location code. If the request does not meet this requirement, the laboratory will not be able to identify the system to return the report to and they will only be available in ICE.

If you notice any issues with missing or unexpected results, please report them via the Informatics Merseyside Service Desk. The training guide has also been provided to outline how results are viewed within Rio.
