We’re delighted to share that we’ve added a fantastic range of new and exciting challenges to our fundraising events portfolio – giving staff even more ways to have fun together, look after their wellbeing and do something amazing to support others across Cheshire and Merseyside – as well as support their colleagues!
Mersey Care teams can now also raise funds to achieve a specific goal for their own service – making a real difference to the service users and patients they directly care for.
This year, to mark Mersey Care turning 25, we are seeking to raise £25,000 through fundraising challenges which will enable us to fund both the small but powerful ‘extras’ that can mean the world to someone facing challenging circumstances, as well as larger projects that enhance care environments, experiences and wellbeing for people across our communities.
Our newest events into check out include:
- Tough Mudder 2026 – the ultimate test of teamwork, grit and determination. Prepare to get muddy for Mersey Cares! (10 and 11 October 2026)
- Inflatable Obstacle Challenge – a fun, high-energy event perfect for friends and colleagues. 5k and 15k distances on offer with multiple giant inflatables to navigate! One fundraiser – so much fun! (18 July 2026)
- Bungee Jump – take on the highest regular bungee jump in the UK and see the stunning Cheshire countryside from a different perspective. (12 July 2026)
- Jubilee Bridge (Widnes) 10k and Half Marathon – Based in Halton and want to raise money for your service? This would be a great challenge to start with. Just £20 to enter. (7 June 2026)
- More Run Aintree events – run the circuit at the famous Aintree Racecourse, home of the Grand National (and our International Nurses Day event!) Events in September and December. (September and December)
- A full programme of runs at Alton Towers, including a 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and race for the juniors. (November 2026)
