Talking Therapies teams at Mersey Care have launched a series of short films to help demystify Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and share information about the Skills for Wellbeing course.

The films explain how CBT works as a Step 3 intervention, offering treatment to people who haven’t found recovery through a Low Intensity intervention. They also explore Low Intensity CBT, used in the Skills for Wellbeing course which helps individuals manage symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Delivered in a group setting - but not group therapy - the Skills for Wellbeing course provides a practical CBT ‘toolbox’ to help people understand and manage their symptoms. The films also offer clear explanations of depression and anxiety, and how CBT techniques can support recovery.
