Knowsley Primary Care Mental Health Team host NHS Big Tea!

Last Friday the Primary Care Mental Health Team for Knowsley hosted their own NHS Big Tea event to celebrate 78 years of the NHS and 25 years of Mersey Care.

The event was held at the Bluebell Centre in Huyton where the team baked an assortment of cakes and bakes which were enjoyed by staff as well as members of the public – as well as hosting a raffle to raise additional funds.

“We are a small team there is myself, six nurses, ops manager and pharmacist”, said Hannah Roberts, Clinical Team Manager and Clinical Lead for Knowsley Primary Care Mental Health Team.

“All of our nurses got involved to bake goods including scones, Biscoff bake, fudge, brownies, school cake and biscuits. We had a lot of fun doing it, especially trying to bake in the heat! In addition to the cakes, we also held a raffle and raised £112 in total towards Mersey Cares charity.”

The team enjoyed getting involved in what was an enjoyable event that brought them all together and as Hannah explained, the staff “loved having some cake on their dinner break”.

“We will definitely plan something else to raise further funds later on in the year!”, she said.

Thank you to Hannah and the Knowsley Primary Care Mental Health Team star bakers for helping make a difference to service users, patients and staff.
