An opportunity has arisen for a secondment to the post of Associate Director of Nursing and Patient Experience for the Secure Care Division (three months fixed term – subject to review). The job description can be found in the attached document.

This full time post will be a key nursing, clinical and quality management role to provide interim leadership to the Secure Divisions management structure, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive, high quality and patient-centred care across the Division. 

The successful applicant will have a demonstrable understanding of the complexities of secure forensic care, with 5 years secure services management experience.  In addition, you will have a proven track record in forensic care providing innovative evidence-based healthcare solutions to enhance the experience of patients within forensic healthcare settings whilst ensuring the quality agenda is embedded across the Secure Care Division. 

You will evidence strong leadership, sound decision-making ability, be highly responsive, flexible and able to meet the needs of a rapidly changing clinical climate.  You will have the ability to engage, motivate, influence and lead the Clinical Quality programmes within the Division and across the Trust.  You will have good inter-personal skills, be a creative thinker, lead by example and have the ability to deal with complex cases.  You will provide both leadership and direction to the Secure Care Division in all Nursing and Patient experience matters. 

Educated to Master’s level, or equivalent, you will be registered with a professional body and have demonstrable experience of managing forensic healthcare services at a senior management level.  You will ensure that robust arrangements are in place to manage clinical and non-clinical risk within the Secure Care Division and be highly responsive and flexible in the current and rapidly changing clinical climate. 

You will respect equality and diversity across all areas of working practice and challenge stigma associated with mental health and learning difficulties, ensuring that patients are at the centre of the care we provide.  You will be a fundamental part of the Secure Division’s Senior Leadership Team and work closely with our Commissioners.
