Our digital journey
Over recent years, we have advanced our digital journey through our involvement in the Global Digital Exemplar (GDE) programme and we have accelerated our use of technology to embrace new ways of working and enable care continuity during one of the greatest global health emergencies of our time.
Following the Trust’s acquisition of North West Boroughs, a significant and complex digital programme of work is underway to move North West Boroughs digital infrastructure to Mersey Care. This has involved the provision of new Mersey Care IT equipment to former North West Boroughs colleagues and the transfer of data, systems, network and telephone connections to Mersey Care.
Another important programme of work is also underway to harmonise the digital clinical systems in use across the Trust, with plans to consolidate systems, where there are multiple versions of the same system in use.
Having all colleagues on the same digital infrastructure and harmonising our clinical systems will deliver significant benefits and will support our strive for perfect care.
Looking to the future, we have a very ambitious digital programme ahead where we will be building on these digital foundations to further enhance the use of our digital systems and tools, whilst also introducing new innovative solutions for supporting our service users and workforce.
