Our new Linden Ward in Warrington is looking great ahead of receiving its first patients in the next few months.
As well as a full interior redesign, the garden has had a massive makeover with features to support patient recovery. These include raised flower beds, picnic tables, a swing (which staff may or may not have had to test!) and a table tennis table as well.
Last week the team welcomed volunteers and staff from local charity Walton Lea Partnership for a very special addition to the site.
Volunteers Jonesy, Gary and Jamie, supported by Phil, Sophie and Jo, created and seeded a wildflower garden. They installed a wonderful handmade bug hotel in an area where patients and their families can walk and sit out. This impressive crafted wooden feature will provide a safe habitat for minibeasts and will be a talking point for patients. The volunteers had a brilliant time!
Clinicians and colleague says the new garden will be a great asset for Linden. It will provide a calming natural environment for patients, visitors and staff to walk through and enjoy nature.
Both Mersey Care and Walton Lea Partnership recognise the importance of engaging with our local partners. We know that by working together we are both better able to meet the diverse needs of the communities we serve. Our engagement leads tell us that they are looking forward to cooperating on more exciting projects in the future.
