Mersey Care launches Online Autism Passport to Empower Autistic Individuals and Enhance Support Across Services
Newly launched online, the Autism Passport, developed in collaboration with autistic individuals and local support groups, is set to transform how autistic people are supported across healthcare, emergency services, and public settings.
The Autism Passport is a personalised document that helps autistic individuals communicate their needs, preferences, and challenges in a clear and accessible way. It is designed to be shared with professionals such as medical staff, police officers, and support workers, ensuring that care and interactions are respectful, informed, and tailored.
“The passport gives autistic people a stronger voice in situations where they may struggle to be heard. It’s a simple online tool which can have a powerful impact.” said Sonia Anderson, Clinical Lead for Autism at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
You can download and edit the online passport here.
