An important message from RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents)

"As you may have seen in recent news coverage, there have been several tragic drowning incidents during the recent heatwave. With school holidays and the warmer weather encouraging more families to spend time near water, this is an important time to reinforce water safety messages.

While being near water can be an enjoyable way to cool off, it can also be unpredictable and hazardous. Around half of all drowning deaths occur during the summer months, often in locations close to home."

Please read RoSPA- Summer water safety tips | RoSPA’s essential guide for the public for further information.

Please share this information with the families you work with and remind them of the importance of closely supervising children in and around water at all times.
