Care Certificate

Course Information: Mersey Care has given the commitment that identified support staff, Band 2-4, will have the opportunity to complete the Care Certificate training. The uptake of the Care Certificate will directly impact upon our patient experience and contribute to our vision of “Our vision is to lead the way in whole-person, life-long care that helps people live happier, healthier lives”. In addition staff will have a more in-depth understanding of care and the competencies required to care for patients in Health and Social Care. This course will give staff the basis from which they can further develop and maximise their potential and progress in their career.

Target Audience: Newly appointed B2-4 Health Care Support Workers completely new to working in health care. NB: Colleagues who can evidence over 12 months experience in a Healthcare setting or have achieved a higher level Health & Social Care qualification will be exempt

Learning Outcomes:
To achieve overall Care Certificate standard learners must complete the 15 Standards and Observations during a 12 week period:

350:  MAND CSTF Infection Control – Level 1 – eLearning
350:  MAND Data Security Awareness – eLearning
350:  Basic Life Support / Automated External Defibrillation – Classroom
To support the overall completion of the Care Certificate the learner requires practical observations against the Care Certificate standards detailed in this document. The assessor can be your manager, assessor or someone else authorised (to be determined at Divisional level).
