Our stunning new medium secure hospital in Maghull, Rowan View, continues to attract the accolades of the design industry. There are three new shortlisted places for Rowan View at tonight’s prestigious Building Better Healthcare Awards. This national awards programme is open to the NHS as well as care homes, architects, contractors and suppliers. Our site was shortlisted in three categories:

  • Best Healthcare Development >£10m
  • Best Collaborative Art
  • Best Interior Design Project (New Build)

The MSU was built by Kier Group to support patients with secure learning disability and mental health needs. It opened on schedule during the pandemic in 2020 but had already won its first Design in Mental Health award whilst it was still under construction. In the years since Rowan View has seen awards success not just for its design, but also for its estates, facilities and clinical teams as well as for the art installations on the site.

When Rowan View won four awards earlier this year, our Director of Estates Elaine Darbyshire said that we’d build an environment “to inspire, innovate and provide the highest levels of care for some of the most vulnerable patients in society”.  Elaine has wished all the best to our team for this latest recognition. The results will be announced in London this evening.
