Linked to the ‘Reclaiming the narrative’ theme, local historian, Laurence Westgaph shared the history of Liverpool and migration, and Levi Tafari, poet and performer motivated and inspired staff with his poetry focussed on inclusion and belonging.

Staff read motivational poems, Maureen Whilby, Non Executive Director, talked about black women in business, and the event was closed by Amanda Oates, Chief People and Culture Officer who talked about her learning journey and our organisational plans to become actively anti racist.

The event was also an opportunity to say thanks to Salome Mare-Walsh, the outgoing Chair of the Multi Ethnic Network, for her commitment, dedication and making such a difference to our organisation.

You can read one of the poems below and find another one here.
