Laura Jones, Community Matron, has been qualified as a registered nurse since 2005 and has worked as a Community Matron in Sefton Place since 2016. During completion of the Specialist Community Practitioner District Nursing programme in 2015, she was inspired to apply to become a Queen’s Nurse, and with the support of her patients and their carers, line manager and clinical lead, she was successful in her application.

On Friday, 29 November Laura received her Queens Nurse Title, which was such a proud moment for her, as provides formal recognition of the commitment to high standards of patient care and continually improving practice.

Dr Crystal Oldman Chief Executive of the Queen’s Nursing Institute and Dame Elizabeth Anionwu presented Laura with her Queen’s Nurse certificate and badge. Dame Elizabeth Anionwu is such an inspirational Lady and Nurse and has recently written “Dreams from my Mother” that reflects her incredible influence within the National Health Service.

Laura looks forward to working closely with the Queen’s Nursing Institute, with a view to further enhancing community care provision.
