The Executive Team want to hear your views regarding your preferred future working arrangements. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many staff were asked to work from home. Overall, we were able to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of services with these working arrangements in place. In surveys carried out regarding home working, many staff have indicated their preference for a hybrid working model (a mixture of home and office).

We currently utilise three headquarter buildings – Hollins Park House, Babbage House (Liverpool Innovation Park) and V7 (Kings Business Park). These buildings are costly to run, and two of the buildings are leased. Given the financial pressures on NHS trusts, the Executive Team want to assess whether it is possible to reconfigure, or reduce, the number of buildings to make cost savings based on the permanent implementation of hybrid working for appropriate staff.

We recognise that hybrid working provides more flexibility for staff. It allows staff to balance the demands of both work and home and reduces travel time and costs (and the associated carbon footprint). However, it is recognised that office working has its own advantages, including opportunity for face-to-face collaboration and access to facilities. The objective has to be to get the right balance of hybrid working which meets the ongoing demands of the organisation and provides a supportive working environment/culture for our staff.

It is vitally important that we get as many views as possible from staff who are contracted to work from Hollins Park House, Babbage House (Liverpool Innovation Park) or V7 (Kings Business Park), as well as those previously based at Burlington House, by completing this online survey which takes around five minutes to complete. The collective views generated will influence any decisions to be made around the future of these three buildings. Please complete this survey by Friday 24 September 2021.
