Dear Colleagues,

As part of the Trust’s ongoing strategy to provide whole person care and to ensure operational resilience for clinical services during this winter, a number of services will change portfolios over the coming weeks.

The following changes will begin to take place from week commencing 16 October 2023.

Community Urgent Care Services

A number of community urgent care services within Southport & Formby and Mid-Mersey will transfer from their current portfolios to the Urgent Care portfolio. The benefit of these changes will allow the teams to standardise services across Liverpool, Knowsley and Sefton, ensuring that all of our patients receive the same standard of care wherever they live.

Community Care – Inpatient Services – Longmoor House

Leadership of Longmoor house will transfer from the Sefton, CYP and Families portfolio, to the Urgent Care portfolio. This will enhance the already excellent care being delivered and will allow for a greater focus on integrated care between ourselves and our neighbouring NHS organisations and Local Authorities

South Sefton – Planned Therapy Services

The South Sefton planned therapy services will transfer from the Urgent Care portfolio to the Sefton, CYP and Families portfolio. These changes will allow for greater integration between the North and South Sefton teams, ensuring a standardised model within the Sefton Place

Walk-in Centres / Urgent Treatment Centres

  • The Liverpool WICs/UTCs will transfer from the Urgent Care portfolio to Liverpool Place portfolio
  • The Knowsley WICs/UTC and Sefton UTC will transfer from the Urgent Care Portfolio to Sefton, CYP and Families portfolio

The benefits of these changes will allow a Place focus on the current care delivery models, with a focus of working with Treatment Room services to ensure patients are seen at the right place at the right time. It is anticipated this change will be reviewed in 6 months’ time

Michelle Fanning, Deputy Divisional Director and Cathy Long, Head of Operations will retain the roles of strategic lead for Urgent Care / WICs and UTC Development.
