This Dementia Action Week, we’re proud to highlight our work with Later Life and Memory Services and the difference charitable funding has made in supporting people living with dementia across Mersey Care.
From therapeutic resources such as sensory items and dementia dolls, to practical tools like easy-read clocks and dementia-friendly environments, these initiatives are helping to improve comfort, reduce anxiety and create meaningful, engaging experiences for patients.
Funding has also supported group activities and resources that help patients stay connected with others and their surroundings.

Looking ahead
We also have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline, including pet therapy initiatives and an exciting transformation at Fern Ward to create a garden “pub” space – The Fern Arms – alongside a vintage hairdressing salon. These developments, made possible through the support of local businesses, will help create even more welcoming and therapeutic spaces for patients and their families as well as NHS staff.
