Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust has begun a programme of work to review its Community Equipment Services across Liverpool and Knowsley.
The review forms part of our commitment to continuously improve the quality, efficiency and value for money of the services we provide, ensuring community equipment services remain sustainable and responsive to the needs of the people who use them.
Community equipment plays an important role in supporting people to remain independent, facilitating hospital discharge and enabling care closer to home. As the programme develops, we will work closely with partners and stakeholders to ensure any future service model aligns with wider health and care system priorities.
We are currently focused on understanding the current service and identifying opportunities for improvement. A representative group of prescribers is already involved in sharing their experiences and views, helping to inform the programme from an early stage.
Engagement with stakeholders will continue throughout the programme, and feedback will play an important role in shaping future proposals. The programme is currently in the review and assessment phase, and no decisions have been made at this stage. Any future proposals will be developed through stakeholder engagement and considered through the Trust's established governance processes.
