Patient information leaflets

We’ve seen an increase in teams creating their own patient information leaflets. While well intentioned, this isn’t the right approach. Patient information must be high quality, consistent and on brand. This ensures:

  • Information is accurate, evidence based and up to date
  • Patients receive clear, consistent, accessible and inclusive information
  • We meet regulatory expectations and present a consistent, trusted organisation.

Producing leaflets requires specialist input (design, accessibility, proofreading and branding). This isn’t the best use of your time and can lead to duplication or inconsistencies.

If you need patient information, read pages 45 to 50 about patient information in our Brand Guidelines and follow these three steps:

  • Check if it already exists to avoid duplication (website or leaflet library)
  • Submit a request to Communications
  • Provide your approved clinical content for us to develop and design.
