Steve Newton wrote to Whalley colleagues on 8 August 2023 outlining a number of vacancies that were available within Lancashire and South Cumbria (LSCFT). We have been in recent contact with colleagues at LSCFT who have advised that they have ‘ring fenced’ some posts at Woodview for our colleagues who are effected by the pending retraction of the Whalley site. The roles are;

  • Health Care Assistants – band 3 (6 posts ring fenced for Mersey Care colleagues outside of their recruitment campaigns)
  • Staff Nurses – band 5 (2 posts are ring fenced for Mersey Care colleagues outside of their recruitment campaign)

If you are interested in being considered for these roles please reply to this email (the Whalley retraction email account) by Thursday 14th September and a member of our HR team will make contact with you to discuss this further. LSCFT have given assurance that they will seek to minimise the formalities of any recruitment process wherever possible.

On a final note, our HR colleagues today have a further meeting with several neighbouring NHS Trusts where we hope to be provided with their vacancy position. This will enable us to explore what suitable alternative employment opportunities are available across the patch.  We will update you on this separately.
